Plant Funds

Plant Funds, in general, are funds used to account for plant assets - tangible items, held for purposes other than investment or resale, that have a useful life of at least one year and an acquisition cost of $5,000 or more. Operating procedures governing the utilization of Plant Funds have been implemented to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and to improve consistency and accuracy in accounting for long-term, inventoriable assets.
